General measurement guide
Measure the garment, not the label.
Sizing varies by collection and manufacturer. Use this guide as a comparison method, not a claim about any specific archived item.
Shorts
Lay a well-fitting pair flat. Measure the waistband from side to side without stretching, then double it. Measure rise from the crotch seam to the top of the waistband and inseam from crotch to hem.
Hoodies and tees
Measure pit to pit, body length from the high shoulder point, and sleeve length from shoulder seam to cuff. For dropped-shoulder garments, compare body width and total sleeve reach together.
Sweatpants
Record relaxed waist, stretched waist, front rise, thigh, inseam, and leg opening. A small change in rise can noticeably change the silhouette.
